The Pennsic Fortress Project
Behind every great "master builder" there's a team of dedicated assistants
In -this- the first weekend of the Castle Project, not only did we
successfully break ground and get some impressive ditches dug for the
castle (thanks to the dedicated help from Dave "not the Cooper"), but
construction of the actual castle began. Everybody found something to do
whether it was filing corner brackets, painting the the brackets,
cutting wood, drilling holes, erecting walls, serving food and water, or
placing washers on lag bolts.. no job was to BIG or too SMALL..
everyone pitched in and worked together and accomplished more than
expected for the first weekend's efforts.
For information on this GREAT Fortress or to volunteer to help during a construction weekend, please contact Munenori
"This project is not only for the enjoyment of the
people who built it, nor is it only for Pennsic-goers this year. We are
building this fortress to use for a long time and for the enjoyment of
everyone who comes to see it and play on or around it".---Munenori
To give you an idea of just how BIG this project is..
When completed, the Pennsic Fortress will be (these are estimated) 260
feet wide (end to end) ~ 12 foot tall ~ with an approximate square
footage of 26,000 feet. Inside the gate towers, there will be an inner
tower as well. Schematics of the overall fortress will be posted
shortly.
Also, we will be posting the names of all those who came out and helped with this project.
